Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review/analyze project plans to understand the scope and requirements for potential bids
- Calculate detailed estimated costs of labour, materials, and equipment for heavy construction projects in order to prepare bids
- Submit detailed, accurate, and clear bids to potential clients
- Negotiate contracts with potential clients and suppliers
- Oversee the entire construction process, working closely with clients, suppliers and foremen/labourers to ensure jobs are being completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Work with finance team to analyze project performance
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in construction estimating and project management
- Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
- High knowledge of the heavy construction industry, including regulations
- Proficient in using estimating software
- Strong understanding and interpretation of engineering/architect drawings and specifications
- Self-motivated with a high standard of ethics
