JOB SUMMARY
Installers assemble and build Sunrooms and retractable screens for residential customers according to plans. Responsible for the efficient organization of material, labour and equipment/tools during a project and report directly to the Team Leader. Installers must work safely, have a strong work ethic and take pride in what they do in order to achieve a quality product.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
- Responsibility: On-site Sunroom / Motorized Screen installation
Duties include:
- Work outdoors in all weather
- Provide & care for your own personal tools.
- Complete all work orders with accuracy.
- Work with other departments (production, administration etc) to ensure that customer requests/inquiries are managed appropriately.
- Maintain a positive working environment with other staff.
- Return unused material to stock daily
Other responsibilities and duties include:
- Participate in internal activities / meetings as requested
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required, and designated Seaton apparel
- Work in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
- Follow Seaton Sunrooms’ policies/procedures, standards and direction
- Has a reliable means of transportation
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of general construction experience
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure and handle power tools properly
- Deck-building, roofing, etc... an asset
Skills:
- Problem solving skills required
- Proficient using hand and power tools including drills, saws, as well as some caulking experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Strong professionalism and work ethics at all times – discretion, confidentiality, reliability, and good judgment are essential in this role
- Autonomous and manages priorities and solves problems with minimal guidance. Holds self ultimately accountable for results and performance.
Other requirements:
- Comfortable with heights and able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Able to work Monday to Friday without interruption and the occasional Saturday. Work from start time until job is finished.
- Able to work overtime if required
- Has a reliable means of transportation to work
- Work indoors as well as outdoors in all weather
