Windsor, ON Category Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Mechanic

Responsibilities for the HVAC Technician include, but are not limited to:



  • On-site problem diagnosis, fixed right the first time and continual value-added communication with the home owner
  • Install, maintain and repair all types of home heating and air quality systems, as well as refrigeration systems and other equipment used to distribute, or supply ventilation; including systems in multi-unit residential buildings
  • Diagnose the cause of problems or failures in HVAC systems
  • Travel to job sites, work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained. Communicate progress and possible delays to customer
  • Install or replace components or entire systems
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance, and performance checks
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and installation instructions
  • Set priorities and work assignments to meet established deadlines
  • Perform diagnostics, repair, maintain, service and install equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements. Perform general and specific equipment inspections
  • Correctly instruct customers on proper care and maintenance
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all modern equipment and regulations
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Represent Haller Mechanical in a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications:

  • A valid, full driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
  • Proven ability to adapt to different situations
  • Willing to submit a background check
  • Experience with boiler installations and maintenance preferred
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Certified HVAC Technician with 5+ years residential experience
  • Gas Technician 2 License
  • Excellent analytical, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on your own or within a team environment.
  • Must have the ability to problem solve and communicate effectively.
  • Solid knowledge of hand tools.
  • Experience in Refrigeration, HVAC, Electricity, and Mechanics an asset.
  • Ability to:
    • stand and walk continuously
    • work in adverse weather conditions, in areas of excessive heat, or cold, damp, or excessive humidity
    • work in tight areas, with limited movement, confined spaces
  • Must provide own steel-toed safety boots and PPE.
  • Have great attention to detail. Strong analytical skills.
